About Me

Genie Chow writes and illustrates picture books and novels. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an art major, and studied illustration at the Art Institute of Boston, with a degree in filmmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute. After graduating, she added to her experience through classes in children's book writing and illustrating.

She painted portraits in watercolors for six years, and created paintings in the fairy art genre.

She believes in the importance of creating books children can enjoy and learn from, including building self esteem and self confidence, love for nature, travel and learning about one's heritage.

For her debut romantic comedy novel, she likes to bring humor to people about romance, its challenges and the way it influences our everyday life.

She now focuses on writing and illustrating her books, and in her spare time she creates artist teddy bears and art dolls. Genie lives in California with her partner.
