About Me

Genie Chow attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison as an art major. She supplemented her education at the Art Institute of Boston in illustration and has a degree in filmmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute. After graduating, she added to her experience through classes in children's book writing and illustrating. Genie also painted portraits in watercolors, and created paintings in the fairy art genre. She makes and sells art bears and art dolls as a hobby. 

Genie believes in the importance of creating multicultural books all children can enjoy and learn from, for happier families and kids who can identify with them.     

She now focuses on writing and illustrating her children's books, is working on her debut romantic comedy novel, and lives in Northern California with her domestic partner.
