Genie Chow is an author and illustrator of children's books and romantic comedy novels. She is the owner of the publishing house, Rainbow Lute Publishing.
She majored in art and graduated with a B.F.A. in film. While creating experimental films, she worked as a temp to support her filmmaking.
After this, she realized she wanted to make artist teddy bears, which she sold for a time while also sewing and selling her art dolls. After some soul-searching, she decided she wanted to write and illustrate children's books, and painted portraits part-time.
After starting out with children's books, she always loved romantic comedy movies, so she also wanted to write novels in the romantic comedy genre.
Her debut romcom novel
is Two Weddings and a
Bust, set in Hollywood
about a woman in a middle age crisis trying to form a lasting
relationship and pursue her dreams of becoming a
screenwriter.
She also paints fantasy fine art paintings and lives in California with her partner, a blue betta fish and a trio of tetras.
